Precision and Excellence: Our Façade Solution for the C. Bechstein Piano Manufactory

We at BENEDICT + RIVA were selected by the client to further develop, design, manufacture, and install this special building envelope. With great pride, appropriate humility, and diligence, we take on this task. The challenge lies in meeting the high requirements for building physics while combining them with the sophisticated design of our RIVA system profiles.

In the foyer, a highly thermally insulated Structural Glazing Façade of the type RIVA FWS 50 SG.SI is being created. The unique feature here is that the mullion-transom construction is not made of aluminum or steel, but of glass. A fully glazed revolving door completes the entrance. In the stairwell, large panoramic glazing extends across each floor, allowing visitors an unobstructed view into the production area.

In the concert hall and selection room areas, a large-scale mullion-transom construction also extends across two floors, transitioning into a canopy structure that projects beyond the front of the building like an open grand piano. The workstations in production and the tuning rooms are equipped with over 300 multi-part sound-insulating composite windows of the type RIVA AWS 120 CC.SI to avoid disruptive influences.
